What to Bring on a Fishing Trip in Dubai: Packing Checklist

Day's catch of kingfish and queenfish laid out on a boat deck in Dubai

Packing the right things makes a big difference to how much you enjoy a deep sea fishing trip in Dubai. The good news is that you do not need much. Here is a simple checklist to help you prepare.

Sun Protection

  • Sunscreen (high SPF, water-resistant) and reapply during the trip
  • A hat or cap, ideally with a wide brim
  • Polarised sunglasses, which also help you see into the water
  • Lip balm with SPF

The sun reflects off the water, so you can burn even on cloudy or cooler days.

Clothing and Footwear

  • Light, breathable clothes that you do not mind getting a little dirty
  • A long-sleeved shirt for extra sun protection
  • Non-slip shoes or trainers. Decks can get wet
  • A light jacket for early mornings in winter

Drinks and Snacks

Staying hydrated is important, especially in summer. Check with us what is included on your boat. Water and ice are provided on many of our trips, and you are welcome to bring snacks for your group.

Seasickness Prevention

If you are prone to motion sickness, take seasickness tablets before you board, as advised on the packaging. Eat a light meal beforehand, stay in the fresh air, and look at the horizon if you start to feel unwell.

Personal Items

  • Phone or camera, ideally in a waterproof case or pouch
  • A small towel and wet wipes
  • A bag or cool box if you plan to take your catch home
  • Your ID, as requested when booking

What You Do Not Need to Bring

You do not need to bring your own fishing gear. Check with our team which equipment is included with your chosen boat, and the crew will set everything up for you.
